Many of you in the ADR world would be very familiar with Professor Laurence Boulle

Laurence established the Dispute Resolution Centre at Bond University in 1989 where he served as Director of the Centre for many years and still runs workshops at the DRC. He was a part-time member of the Native Title Tribunal, chair of the National ADR Advisory Council and chair of the Mediator Standards Board. He was Fellow of LEADR/Resolution Institute in 2014-6, and was appointed first Fellow of the Australian Dispute Resolution Association in 2015. He is also Fellow of the Suzman Institute in Johannesburg.

Professor Boulle has held senior academic appointments at the Universities of KwaZulu/Natal, Bond University, the University of the Witwatersrand and Australian Catholic University.

Recently "retired"  Professor Boulle has launced his new website resolve@boulle® with Professor Boulle as Director

I am honored to be part of his specialist team and hope to share bring and cross pollinate the knowledge from the bush to the city and vise-versa.

Keep an eye out for his walking ADR sessions around Sydney Harbour too!

Intellectual Property Australia Mediation Panel

We have been invited to join the panel on Intellectual Property Australia (IPA)

IPA established a domestic intellectual property (IP) Mediation Referral Service where IP right holders will be able to access mediation as a low cost and effective alternative to resolving IP related disputes.
IPA says Mediation has been used globally to resolve IP disputes and shown to be highly effective with up to 70 per cent being resolved.

Native Title Mediator List

I am pleased to announce that I have been included in the Federal Court Native Title External Mediator List for 3 years

In making Federal Court orders in relation to the case management of claimant applications, the Court has referred to the ‘central role’ of the Tribunal in the mediation process. That role is apparent from the mandated terms of referral and is reinforced by the Federal Court’s facility to request the Tribunal to provide reports to the Court on the progress of mediation. The various statutory provisions relating to mediation conferences convened by the Tribunal are ‘ancillary to the referral of applications’ to the Tribunal for mediation and they ‘do not define the limits’ of the Tribunal’s role.
